Competition Matches

Q: How can I, as competition manager, edit/update/delete my competition matches/fixtures? How can I, as a competition manager, resolve disputed matches and/or update forfeited matches?

  • If you have imported your draw or used the draw builder you will need to "publish" all matches before you can edit/update/delete matches.
  • Once published the competition fixtures will display under the 'Matches' tab and you can edit individual matches. If you wish to edit in bulk, we recommend uploading a 'redo' template.

    • Matches with a Status of 'Disputed' matches appear in red.
    • Team Name can display the count of Home and Away matches for that team.
  • Match name also appears in the colum.

Match Status

  • Fixture
    • This is the first status a match will receive and means the match is yet to be played. Team lists can be submitted and scoring events added against the match.
  • Result
    • Match has been finalised, where team admins are unable to make any changes to team lists and/or scoring events.
    • Resulted matches contribute to the ladder calculations.
    • Referees will be paid for resulted matches.
  • Disputed
    • Match has been disputed by a team admin, creating a competition case for the competition manager to resolve and marked as 'result' or 'forfeit'.
    • Disputed matches do not contribute to the ladder calculations.
    • Referees will not be paid for disputed matches, until updated to 'result' and/or 'forfeit'.
  • Forfeit
    • Match has been marked as a forfeit by a team admin in the Rugby Match Day app or by the competition owner.
    • We recommend Competition Managers add in a Default Forfeit Score into their Competition Details page to automatically populate the score for the winning and losing team so the ladder can be updated.
    • If there is no Default Forfeit Score, forfeited matches will result in a draw in the ladder and will need to be manually updated by the competition manager.
  • Postponed
    • Matches have been postponed due to Weather, Referee Shortage or Team Emergency.
    • Postponed matches do not contribute to the ladder calculations.
